Gluten Free - YUCK!!

Having Sjogren's disease has taken a toll on me and I am trying to adjust my diet to help with a few of the symptoms - one of the changes I have made is to go on a gluten free diet (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gluten-free_diet) and many of the textures of cookies, snacks have changed. Other than her ball one of Maggie's favorite things are oatmeal cookies, she will beg, wave bye bye and roll over without being asked when she smells them. I was enjoying a gluten free oatmeal cookie with coffee one afternoon when she and Janet came up for a taste. Both stared so intently I felt that I might choke - so I broke off 2 small pieces and gave them each one. They greedily took them and just as quickly spit them out - giving me a look of disgust as if to say WHAT THE H! Then went back to begging - I let them smell what I was eating they kinda gave the are you KIDDING me look - Janet walked off - Maggie gave a heavy sigh laid down and ate both pieces. I guess gluten free is gluten gross to them!!
