Leilani's Story

Leilani a foundling kitty was found with a litter of very ill kittens. She had a severe uterine infection and all of them were dying. Luckily the person that found them works in an Animal Daycare/Boarding Kennel which also takes in foundlings for pet adoption. When she was introduced to our home none of us especially Maggie were sure it would work out. I had cats before and really wasn't looking to get another one but her owner would not leave her behind so...if I wanted to try to make a relationship work I accepted Leilani. During the next few weeks and months Leilani did everything to endear herself to me - she would stand and put a paw on my leg before hopping in my lap, purr loudly when I gave her a rub and role on her back for me to rub her tummy. She only attacked Maggie a few times and road her like a horse (seriously) twice - a couple months later they were sleeping butt to butt on the sofa. The relationship ended but Leilani refused to come out of hiding when it came time for the move. Her owner decided Leilani was not worth the effort - I guess I love Leilani more! Today, she is part of my life I wouldn't trade her for anything. She and Maggie love each other in their own way.
