I am writing this as a series of posts about my experiences integrating furry 4 legged kids into a blended family - similar to those of humans. It is reality based and I hope it will bring a smile or perhaps a laugh from my readers. It's a great place for me to share the joys as well as the challenges I have encountered.

Jackson?, Jackson!, JACKSON?!?
Jackson sleeps in the kitchen under the table - it's his favorite space, he can see in all directions, no one can come up behind him and the refrigerator is in the same room (lol). He is not a chow hound like his sister Janet but he won't turn down a snack! He weighs about 70 lbs, is very intelligent and pretty stubborn but all in all he's a really sweet dog. Two things bug me about him - his slobbering (which he can't help) and his nosiness. I have read when an animal is nosey they are intelligent - shoot he must be a genius!! When he first claimed the kitchen he had to check it all out. One night everyone was sound asleep and all of a sudden I was awakened by a loud crash from the kitchen - taking the flashlight and the gun I walked into the kitchen - Jackson's butt was sticking out of a bottom cupboard!! I called him Jackson - nothing again with more emphasis Jackson - nothing so I screamed his name JACKSON and he backed up with a Tupperware bowl stuck over his muzzle and front of his head! I laughed so hard I had to change pajama bottoms!! The experience has not stopped him from getting into the pots and pans - I baby proofed the bottom cupboards to keep him out the cleaners. I tell you - never a dull moment here!
